To increase the font size in steps which increase as the font size gets bigger in MS Word, follow these steps:

1) Select the text
2) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys
3) Press the . (period or full stop) key

To decrease in the same way, hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys and press the , (comma) key.
