Tip of the Week
In the days of the typewriter, the underline was the king of emphasis. If you wanted to make a heading stand out, or you wanted to draw attention to any part of your document, then the underline was the way you went.
That`s all changed now, partly because the control available to even the most ardent beginner now allows them to change font, size and style without pausing for breath. The other reason underlining is fairly rare these days is that if people see an underlined word or phrase, they expect to be able to click on it and that it will take them off somewhere more exotic and interesting.
If (like me) you have a bit of a soft spot for underlining, then this week`s tip allows you to keep on using it without confusing compulsive clickers...
